Schizophrenic In a 'very vicious and terrible attack,' a Florida youngster murders his grandpa and injures his father.
According to officials, a Georgia University student is in custody following a "very vicious and horrific attack" in Florida that killed his grandpa.
After realizing that their 19-year-old son, Luke Ingram, was suffering from schizophrenia, his family begged him to return home to Palm Coast, Florida.
According to authorities, Ingram spent supper looking at a family member before going on a rampage and hitting his 85-year-old grandpa Darwin Larry Ingram about 3 p.m.
When the suspect's father attempted to dial 911, he was also beaten and choked, but he was able to run and seek assistance at a neighbor's house.
"After a considerable battle and many taser deployments," the suspect was apprehended and sent to a hospital before being transferred to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he assaulted cops again.
"We are working hard to determine what precipitated this sad attack on family members early this morning," Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly stated.
"Our heartfelt sympathies to the family and everyone concerned in this matter."
