After two years of slinging insults on social media, Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia looks to be a reality.
Garcia confirmed on Thursday that he and Davis will face off in Las Vegas in 2023. Davis confirmed that the fight is a "done deal" after he accepts a fight against an unnamed opponent on January 7.
"I'm so pumped this fight is finally in place," Garcia wrote. "I've worked hard, I'm in the prime of my career, and I know I'll be the biggest boxer in the world. This legacy begins today."

Showtime Sports CEO Stephen Espinoza praised Davis and Garcia for their perseverance in making the fight happen in the face of adversity.
"Tank and Ryan deserve all the credit," Espinoza added. "There were a lot of roadblocks along the way, but they both kept the course to give the fans the fight they wanted."
Golden Boy Promotions said on Thursday that they are working hard to finish the agreement.
"The fans have made it abundantly clear that the fight they want is Ryan versus Tank," company founder Oscar De La Hoya said in a statement. "Golden Boy Promotions and I are proud to be leading the charge to get this fight signed and are eager to finalize a deal as soon as possible."
"It's past time for those outside the ring to stop getting in the way of those who want nothing more than to fight. Our slogan has always been "fans first," and this is again another example of how we lead by example."
The collaboration of broadcasters DAZN and Showtime has been a major stumbling block in making the fight a reality. DAZN executive vice president Joe Markowski confirmed that both parties had reached an agreement in principle. The agreement is subject to additional contracts.
"As we've always said, DAZN will strive to broadcast the largest boxing matches. We've worked tirelessly with our friends at Golden Boy, Showtime, and Team Davis to come up with a deal structure that works for everyone in the Gervonta vs. Ryan Garcia fight "Markowski used Twitter. "Everyone at DAZN Boxing is overjoyed that the parties have reached an agreement in principle. That agreement is contingent on the exchange of contracts."
Davis vs. Garcia has sparked interest for over two years. Davis (27-0) has won many world titles in three weight classes and is regarded as one of the top lightweights in the world. Garcia (23-0) is a top-10 lightweight looking to take a significant step toward becoming the best lightweight alive.
