A Travis County, Texas man is in jail after authorities were notified to a homicide at his house and discovered the victim's corpse.

Deputies rushed to the Windy Valley Drive property this week after a tipster called to report a woman's killing.

On Nov. 2, officers obtained a search warrant and discovered the remains of a female victim buried behind a fire pit at the residence.

Pete Perius was detained on suspicion of driving without a license at first, but he is now facing additional accusations in connection with the murder.

"This is a really good neighborhood, really calm, we've never had anything like that, and two days ago we saw the cops over there," a local remarked.

"I've lived in this area for about ten years, and we've never seen anything like it." It's the first time, and perhaps it will be the last."
