Saturday's top MLB playoff choices
The program, which conducted 10,000 simulations on each of Saturday's Wild Card Series games, believes the Blue Jays (-160) have a good chance of beating the Mariners. The balanced and prolific offense of Toronto contributes to some of the optimism. This season, the Blue Jays led the American League in a number of offensive statistics, including OPS, total bases, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, and batting average. Toronto was also at the top of the league in home runs, runs scored, and doubles, while maintaining outstanding plate discipline by walking more and striking out less batters than the typical AL club.
Gausman, who led the American League in FIP and strikeout-to-walk ratio in 2022, is also being used by the Blue Jays. He has a 3.07 ERA over the previous two seasons, and Gausman has a significant projected advantage against Ray. Check out who else is backing right here.
