It was not a random act': A 15-year-old boy was shot dead aboard a train in Queens.
On a subway in New York City, two groups of teenagers began squabbling Friday afternoon, and one of them was shot dead.
Jayjon Burnett, 15, was shot to death while riding a northbound A train in Far Rockaway soon before 4 p.m.
An dispute between two groups of "young folks" resulted in one of them shooting at Burnett, injuring him in the chest.
When the train arrived at the stop, a straphanger assisted Burnett in getting off, and he was transported to Cohen's Children's Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
"We're going to appeal for the public's help with this tonight," Transit Chief Jason Wilcox stated.
"There were a lot of passengers on that train who may have seen or heard what happened."
