The Niners were without defensive lineman Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) and Javon Kinlaw (knee), running back Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle), tight end Tyler Kroft (knee), defensive back Tarvarius Moore (hamstring), and tackle Trent Williams for the game (ankle). In Week 5, they were one of the 49ers' seven inactive players.

In-game injury updates for the 49ers-Panthers are provided below.

Jimmie Ward, Sr (hand, ruled out)

Safety For the 49ers' opening defensive drive, Jimmie Ward was on the field as a hybrid linebacker. However, he vanished after that. San Francisco stated that he has been ruled out due to a hand injury.

Ward afterwards rejoined his teammates on the sidelines, although this time in street clothes. The good news is that his hand was not covered in bandages.

Ward made his 2022 season debut in this game. Due to a hamstring injury, he missed the first four games of the season. Ward's practice window was opened last week, and he was activated from the injured reserve list on Saturday.
