The latest trailer for Ryan Coogler's upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, provides the best look yet at the new Black Panther.

But telling the tragic narrative of the late Chadwick Boseman's character, the son king, T'Challa, the teaser also teases the future Black Panther, while without explicitly revealing the next guardian of the African country of Wakanda.

A mural of King T'Challa appears at one point in the teaser, as Marvel Studios honors the late Chadwick Boseman, whose role was not replaced for the sequel.

But the trailer's biggest question is who will be the next Black Panther.

"They have lost their guardian," Queen Ramonda, represented by Angela Bassett, observes when the Wakandans are attacked following King T'Challa's death, especially by Talokan, a hidden underwater kingdom.

"Now is our moment to attack... Show them who we are," urges Queen Ramonda. That's when a lady in a black suit falls from the sky, as the teaser promises the next Black Panther.

Wakanda Forever is the sequel to Coogler's 2018 film, which established a cultural touchstone and received an Oscar nomination for best picture. Coogler devised a pre-death sequel for Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman.

Coogler and Marvel Studios then set about figuring out how to go ahead while paying tribute to Boseman's legacy.

Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Bassett, and Martin Freeman feature in Wakanda Forever, as do Marvel newcomers Tenoch Huerta as Namor and Dominique Thorne as hero Riri Williams.
