According to National Coffee Association surveys this year, coffee consumption in America has risen, reaching a two-decade high this year as many adopt post-COVID habits (NCA).
According to the study, 66% of Americans consume coffee every day, more than any other liquid, including tap water. According to the NCA, this statistic has increased by roughly 14% since January 2021.
Meanwhile, according to the polls, consumption of espresso-based beverages — normally made away from home — has climbed by 30% since the start of the epidemic. Moreover, despite growing prices this year, coffee behemoths like Starbucks have seen record demand.
At an investor day earlier this month, Starbucks interim CEO Howard Schultz said that the business had so far been "immune... from any awareness whatsoever that there is a decrease in consumer traffic, a fall in terms of average ticket."
Schultz remarked that Starbucks' chain has undergone a significant change, with mobile orders now making up 25% of orders and drive-thrus now accounting for 50% of sales in the United States. The demand for cold beverages has also increased.
Back in August, Starbucks and other major franchises like Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme debuted their autumn menus, which included items with pumpkin spice.

On Thursday, several chains will be giving specials to commemorate National Coffee Day 2022. To take advantage of the promotions, the vast majority need users to join up for loyalty programs.
According to Thrillist, Barnes & Noble's B&N Café is celebrating by providing a free tall hot or iced coffee with the purchase of any baked dish on Thursday.
Biggby Coffee: On Thursday, the brand is providing a free 20-ounce hot or iced brewed coffee at participating stores, and it is distributing this coupon on Twitter.
Bulletproof Coffee is providing a 25% discount on coffee items and mix-ins including MCT oil and grass-fed ghee clarified butter.
Burger King: According to CNET, members of Burger King Royal Perks may enjoy a free small BK Café Iced Coffee when they purchase $1 or more on the BK app or bk.com.
On Thursday, Dunkin' Donuts loyalty members may enjoy a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase.
According to CNET, La Colombe Coffee Roasters is providing a BOGO 50% off bargain on all 12-ounce packs of coffee beans both online and at La Colombe cafés in honor of National Coffee Day and International Coffee Day (Oct. 1).
Panera: New Unlimited Sip Club Subscribers will enjoy two months free on Thursday, while current members will receive $2 off select barista drinks and smoothies through the app.
