Following reports of shots fired, there was a large police presence at Millcreek Mall and the surrounding neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m. Sunday, police responded to several shots fired complaints near the Millcreek Mall food court area.

Two suspects, perhaps a third, were seen fleeing the mall on foot through Boscov's and headed toward Men's Wearhouse. At the moment, just one suspect is in custody.

According to a Millcreek Mall spokeswoman, there was an incident between a group of young people during which one person pulled out a pistol and fired a shot into the ceiling.

There were no injuries as a result of the gunshots.

We spoke with some folks who were inside the mall when the commotion broke out, and we heard some of their horrific accounts.

"We were simply sitting there having lunch and watching the Browns game when we noticed a bunch of irate women rushing one way." I noticed a bunch of women hurrying away, practically weeping. "I saw a Foot Locker girl crying on the phone," Ben, a witness, said.

"I didn't know a young girl who works at Foot Locker, but she was all shaken up, and I asked, 'Are you okay, what's going on?' Gage Shaun, a witness, stated, "Oh, that happened just in front of my business over at Footlocker."

"Me and him had just had this conversation about the economy before we came in here." And, lo and behold, something occurs. Thank God, individuals are still alive in here and with their families," Tyler Peterson, a witness, said.

The Millcreek Mall did not go into lockdown, but a mall representative informed us that individual retailers may have shuttered at their discretion.

The mall closed at 6 p.m., as is customary.
