Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was "engaged in a car crash," according to his press secretary Sergii Nykyforov, with the accident taking place back in Kyiv following his visit to the frontline.

On Facebook, he stated: "In Kyiv, a vehicle crashed with the President of Ukraine's automobile and escort cars.
"The driver of the automobile received immediate help from medics accompanying the head of state, and he was placed in an ambulance.

The automobile collision occurred shortly after Mr Zelensky returned to Kyiv from the front line, where he was meeting soldiers who had made fast advances in the previous week into territory captured by Russian forces.
