Residents in Oak Forest were advised to remain indoors Friday morning as officers reacted to "a barricaded individual" in the Chicago suburb.
Police were called to the barricade situation in the 5500 block of Ann Marie Lane shortly after 7 a.m., according to authorities.
"At this moment, we ask residents in the region to shelter in place," the city tweeted.

More information was not immediately available, although a fire was also reported in the same region.
As workers battled to extinguish the fires, smoke could be seen pouring from a structure. At the location, the sound of what appeared to be gunshots could be heard.
Residents said they saw blood in the roadway.
The city reported a substantial police and fire presence on the block, as well as the closure of Central Avenue from Independence to 155th Street and 155th Street from Long Avenue to Central Avenue.
Oak Forest High School reported a "hold in place," which means kids can still enter but cannot leave. Friday morning, school was still in session.
