Doug Ramsey, the CEO of Beyond Meat, was arrested last weekend after reportedly biting a man's nose in an Arkansas parking garage after a college football game.
Ramsey, 53, was charged with terroristic threats and third-degree violence on Saturday evening and brought into the Washington County jail. According to the Washington County, Arkansas, web page, he was freed on Sunday.
According to a preliminary police report, the confrontation occurred after the University of Arkansas football game in a parking garage near Razorback Stadium. Ramsey's arrest was initially reported by local news station KNWA/Fox24.
Ramsey reportedly punched through the back windshield of a Subaru after it collided with Ramsey's front tire. Ramsey reportedly began striking the Subaru owner and biting his nose, "pulling the flesh on the tip of the nose," according to the complaint. Ramsey allegedly threatened to kill the Subaru owner, according to the victim and a witness.
Ramsey has been Beyond Meat's operational leader since December. Investors have been skeptical of the food firm due to lackluster sales, operational issues, and long-term growth prospects. This year, the stock has dropped 73%, bringing the market down to $1.09 billion. The corporation was valued at $13.4 billion just three years ago.
Ramsey spent three decades with Tyson Foods, leading its poultry and McDonald's divisions before joining the developer of meat substitutes. Tyson's corporate headquarters are located in Springdale, Arkansas.
