Bill Barr calls the appointment of a special master in Trump's case "very problematic."
Former Attorney General Bill Barr criticized a federal district judge's decision to appoint a special counsel to review sensitive materials seized at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort as "seriously misguided."
"I don't think the designation of a special master will stand," Barr said Fox News on Tuesday. "However, even if it does, I don't think it will substantially alter the course of events."
"In other words, I don't believe it impacts the game enough to warrant a rain delay for a couple of innings."
Barr also stated that Trump's court triumph will have no effect on the "basic mechanics of the case."
He stated that the administration had "extremely strong evidence" that the former president misused secret information after leaving office.
