PnB Rock, the Philadelphia rapper known for his 2016 hit "Selfish," was shot multiple times Monday afternoon in Los Angeles, the LAPD told the Times.

The shooting occurred after 1 p.m. at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles at Main Street and Manchester Avenue in South L.A., police said. Rock, whose real name is Rakim Allen, was shot while being robbed of his jewelry, according to LAPD. He was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

Rock, 30, had been at the restaurant with his girlfriend, who posted a photo of the location in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Rock first rose to fame in 2015 with his single "Fleek," in which he combined melodic rap with booming trap production. He went on to collaborate with a number of artists, including Ed Sheeran and Chance the Rapper on "Cross Me."

"Selfish" reached #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

PnB Rock released his latest song "Luv Me Again" on September 2.
