On Sunday evening, severe weather is probable throughout a significant portion of central and southeastern Iowa.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for 41 counties in Iowa, extending from east of the Des Moines metro region to the state's southeast corner. The Des Moines metro region, Ames, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, the Quad Cities, and Burlington are all under watch until 12:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

The following counties are affected: Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Benton, Boone, Cedar, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Des Moines, Guthrie, Henry, Iowa, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Muscatine, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Scott, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Van Buren, Wapello
