Additional Mahomes magic: QB of the Chiefs scores a beautiful touchdown on a signature sidearm pass

We must never become accustomed to Patrick Mahomes' excellence.

On Thursday night, Mahomes' first touchdown pass was spectacular. Perhaps it wasn't surprising to see because we've seen him perform similar feats hundreds of times throughout his career.

On a first-and-goal play, Mahomes didn't have anything open, so he began to scramble to his right. He was almost sacked, but a quick sidestep by Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Drue Tranquill kept the play alive. Mahomes kept searching downfield, and then, as only a few people on the earth can, he saw Jerick McKinnon and snapped off a sidearm ball to him after a pump fake. Kansas City Chiefs score.

One of the most unusual aspects of Mahomes' tremendous skill set is his ability to throw while moving and at all arm angles. It's never boring.

For years, Mahomes has made plays like that. But they're all unique. Remember to cherish them, even if Mahomes will continue to put up highlights like that for many years to come.
