Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro Android 13-based MIUI Beta Update Announced: Details

Xiaomi announced on Monday that a MIUI beta upgrade for Android 13 is now available. This beta version is available for the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones. However, the Chinese tech giant has revealed that during the initial wave of upgrades, only 200 people would be granted access to the Android 13-based MIUI beta. Xiaomi has issued a warning to consumers that the upgrade procedure may take longer than normal. According to the company, the update may cause the smartphone to overheat or cause performance difficulties.

Xiaomi announced on Twitter the release of a beta version of MIUI based on Android 13. Only users of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro are eligible to apply for the initial wave of upgrades. Only 200 individuals will be allowed beta access for the initial set of upgrades, according to the business.

Furthermore, Xiaomi stated in a community post that beta testers should create a backup of critical data before updating their smartphones. According to the business, the upgrade procedure may take longer than normal, and the device may experience overheating and performance difficulties as a result of the update.

It may take some time for the handset to adjust to the MIUI beta. According to the Chinese smartphone maker, some third-party applications may not be compatible with Android 13 and may not run correctly.

The firmware version for the Xiaomi 12 update is V13.0.4.0.TLCMIXM, while the firmware version for the Xiaomi 12 Pro is V13.0.4.0.TLBMIXM. Both MIUI beta upgrades are more than 4GB.

Vivo issued a similar Android 13 beta upgrade on Tuesday as part of its Android 13 Preview Program in India. The business has invited Vivo X80 Pro owners to sign up for the Funtouch OS 13 upgrade, which will be available on August 23. iQoo, a Vivo subsidiary, recently announced that users of the iQoo 9 Pro can apply to join the company's Android 13 preview program.
