UNC defensive back Tony Grimes is injured and has to exit the game against FAMU.
With an upper-body injury, Tony Grimes departed UNC football's season-opening game against FAMU on Saturday and did not come back.
The junior defensive back from Virginia Beach, a five-star prospect out of Princess Anne High School, was ranked No. 1 in the nation.
As a sophomore in 2017, Grimes started every game and earned All-ACC Honorable Mention for his 47 tackles and nine pass breakups.
He left Saturday's game in Chapel Hill after taking a hard hit on a tackle in the first quarter.
Grimes left the field under his own power and then went to the medical tent.
ACC Network reporter Kelsey Riggs told UNC, Grimes will miss the rest of the game.
Dante Balfour, a freshman from Florida, took Grimes' place in the lineup.
