Following the Oscars slapping incident, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were first seen together. Here is all you may need to know.
On Saturday, people saw Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, at the hip Nobu sushi restaurant in Malibu. It was their first sighting since the Oscars televised footage of Will Smith punching Chris Rock in March of this year went viral.
Will Smith, 53, was dressed in navy blue clothing and a navy blue cap. Jada, 50, wore a red and white checkered plaid jacket around her waist with a black jumpsuit.
Smith stormed the stage when Rock made a joke about Jada's bald head in reference to "G. I. Jane." Jada has previously spoken about how she battles alopecia, an autoimmune condition that results in hair loss.
Smith apologized for his actions after the slapping incident when he received the best actor award for his performance in the movie "King Richard." A few days later, he also made the announcement of his resignation from the Academy, citing the Academy's trust as the reason.
For ten years, the Academy forbade Smith from going to academy shows and Oscars-related activities after he apologized to Rock for the slapping.
Regarding his reaction to the Academy's notification of the disciplinary proceeding, he stated, "I completely accept the repercussions for my conduct."
The 94th Academy Awards incident was "shocked, terrible, and unforgivable," he continued.
Smith received a 10-year ban from attending shows and Oscar-related events after he later submitted his resignation to the Academy.
In July, Smith also produced a YouTube video where he discussed the incident in depth. He discussed reaching out to Rock to talk about the event in this 5-minute video and how the comic wasn't prepared for the conversation. In this video, he also expressed his regret to Rose Rock, Rock, and other people.
On his most recent "Ego Death World Tour," Chris Rock discussed the incident and compared Smith to Marion "Suge" Knight, who is currently serving a 28-year prison term for voluntarily causing the death of another person.
If everyone claimed to be a victim, according to Rock, no one would hear the actual victims.
She closely followed her spouse out of the restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway.
