The shooting happened Thursday afternoon at the Hyattsville Mall in Maryland.
According to authorities, one individual was gravely injured in a gunshot at the Mall at Prince George's in Hyattsville, Maryland, on Thursday afternoon.
According to News4's Jackie Bensen, the gunshot occurred following an apparent fight in the mall's food court. A few minutes after 4 p.m., Hyattsville police, as well as the county police and fire departments, were summoned to the incident at 3500 East West Highway.
According to police, there is no current threat.
Initially, several police vehicles, ambulances, and fire engines responded to the area, and a substantial police presence remained at the scene until around 5 p.m.
As police investigated the incident, at least a couple dozen individuals stood and sat outside the mall.
